KITCHEN DEMONS
Our
Story
Kitchenware isn’t really what we did, we were designing and making robots. But when a jar lid wouldn’t come off – it was jammed on so tight a wood-clamp was needed to remove it, this made us think about things called openers. A random collection of openers bought online was tested and they seemed OK, but not really. They were tricky and fiddly to use.
And of course, having everything you need to conceptualise and make things, industrial design software, 3D printers, a faithful dog who doesn’t mind the smell of melting plastic, we set to work.

The very first Twizzle removed lids, brilliantly. But there were niggling issues, it was a big, clunky object. And not exactly attractive. And then, wild thought, it might be better in a bright colour.
More designs followed, the handles changed, they started to curve outwards and a little later they were given features to grip onto. The logo was another addition, proportions evolved and after a few more changes, Twizzle was born. And not long after that, mini-Twizzle.
